Comment réparer les cheveux abîmés et cassants ? avec la gamme Première Kérastase

How to repair damaged and brittle hair? with the Kérastase Première range

Damaged hair: causes, treatments and professional advice

When hair is damaged, it becomes more porous. This indicates that the hair's natural shield is deteriorating, allowing other elements to further amplify the damage already present in your hair. Calcium, present in hard water, forms crystals on the surface of the hair and damages its internal structure, leading to a persistent cycle of damage. Hair becomes more brittle, and also loses shine and softness.

By decalcifying your hair, you can protect it from excess calcium.

What are the signs of damaged hair?

How can you tell if you have damaged hair? The following signs will help you better understand the problem and know how to treat it.

Breakage and split ends

When your hair breaks and starts to lose its shape.

Brittle strands

Damaged hair often loses its natural suppleness, softness and becomes dry.

Dullness

If your hair loses its radiance and lacks shine, it is probably damaged.

Frizz

Hair can frizz when the cuticle is damaged because it no longer retains moisture.

The main causes of damaged hair

Several factors can damage hair: the use of heat styling tools without protection (hair dryer, flat iron), coloring and bleaching, or contact with hard water. Water is said to be hard because it is rich in minerals, particularly calcium and magnesium.

With its high content of pure repairing acids, Première treatments act on the surface and deep within the hair. Citric acid helps remove excess calcium, while glycine rebuilds the internal bonds of the hair fiber.

The different steps to use the range

Step 1 - Prepare

Start by using the Première Ultra-Repairing Decalcifying Concentrate by applying it to towel-dried hair. Thanks to its 3% citric acid and 5% glycine, it will help your hair regain its suppleness and shine. Leave on for 5 minutes. Do not rinse before layering the Decalcifying Repairing Mask (step 2).

Step 2 - Mask

The Première Decalcifying Repairing Mask must be applied over the Première Concentrate. You can add a little water to emulsify if necessary.

Step 3 - Treat

After towel-drying your hair, you can apply either the Repairing Fluidity Conditioner (fine to medium-thick hair, leave on for 3 minutes), or the Repairing Filler Mask (medium to thick hair, leave on for 5 minutes).

Step 4 - Style

Calcium not only causes breakage but also dries hair out. The Fundamental Filler Serum protects against heat up to 230 degrees and removes moisture. The Repairing Gloss Oil is a nourishing oil to enhance the hair and add shine at the end of the ritual.

Your routine according to your hair type:

Decalcifying Concentrate + Decalcifying Mask + Repairing Fluidity Conditioner + Serum/Oil

Decalcifying Concentrate + Decalcifying Mask + Repairing Filler Mask + Serum/Oil
